Oliver Reese, of Rainelle, foreman of Camp No 15 of the Meadow River Lumber company, was found in a dying condition on the yards of the Sewel Valley railway on Friday, April 26, a few minutes after leaving the office of the company at about nine o'clock on his way to the woods. He was run over by the work train but no one seems to know how the accident happened or to have seen it. He died before he could be given medical or surgical aid. Both legs and one arm had been cut off and his head badly bruised.
Mr. Reese was a married man aged about 36 years. A wife and two children, living at Camp 15, survive him. His remains were taken to Butler, Tennessee, for burial.
