LINCOLN -Harry C. Ackerson, 93, of Decatur, formerly of Lincoln, died 10:52 a.m. Monday (Jan. 23, 1995) in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Holland & Barry Funeral Home, Lincoln. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln. Memorials: First United Methodist Church, Lincoln. Mr. Ackerson was born Oct. 14, 1901, in Logan County, the son of Curtis and Ollie Buchanan Ackerson. He farmed all of his life and worked at the former Gullett's Greenhouse, Lincoln. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Lincoln. He married Edna Kemp on Nov. 23, 1922, in Lincoln. Surviving are his wife; daughters, Beverly J. Boyer and friend Glenn Ingram of Decatur; Edna Mae Lakin and husband Kenneth of Sun City, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and nine sisters.
