Bridget Tierney, the daughter of Martin Tierney and Mary Canny was born in Knocknaskeagh, County Clare, Ireland on 1 November 1865. {Ireland B/R] The Tierney family resided in the Kilshanny area of County Clare for many years. Bridget and several of her siblings (John, Michael, Martin, James, Austin, Timothy, & Kate) immigrated to the U.S. in the late 1800's. They settled in the Boston Massachusetts area.
NOTE: Some have mistakenly identified her as the Bridget who was the daughter of Deborah Sweeney and Martin Tierney. This is a different Bridget.

Patrick and Bridget went on to have 9 children (Susan, Patrick, Mary, male, Michael,Martin, Joseph, female, male) as well as raise an adopted son, Augustus.
