He resided in Franklin County, Vermont and was a member of the Vermont National Guard prior to the war.

His Vermont National Guard was activated into full time federal service on February 24, 1941, prior to the war, from Saint Alban's, Vermont. He was noted, at that time, as being employed as a Secretary and also as Single, without dependents.

Harold "Died Of Wounds" in the South Pacific during the war and was awarded the Purple Heart.
