Viola Grace Braden Bartley, 74, of Whitmore Lake, Mich., died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Mich.Born April 29, 1928, in Oliver Springs, she was the daughter of Richard and Eliza Lockett Braden, who are deceased. She had lived in Michigan since 1950.Mrs. Bartley retired in 1983 from the Chrysler Corp., after 30 years of employment. She was a member of the United Auto Workers, and the Eagles Auxiliary.She was the widow of Jesse Bartley.She is survived by her daughter, Donna Johnson and her husband, Roy, of Howard City, Mich.; three sons, Randy Bartley of Knoxville, Danny Bartley and his wife, Alice, of Arnold, Mo., and Ricky Bartley and his wife, JoAnn, of Ypsilanti, Mich.; two brothers, Sam Braden and his wife, Katherine, and Jay Braden and his wife, Peggy, all of Oliver Springs; and seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Bartley was preceded in death by two brothers, Otis Braden and Bill Braden, and two sisters, Lorene Upchurch and Eula Shears.The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs with the Rev. Tony Rutherford officiating.A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, at Butler Cemetery in Oliver Springs.The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
