Clarence Cromwell served in WWII as a SGT. He was honorably discharged with a shell shot injury and TB. He married Nena Johnson Barton in 1954 and they had two daughters Judy Elaine and Betty Jane. Nena also had two chidren from a previous marriage. James Burk Barton and Nena Cleo Barton Blackshear Gore Pritchard. He has two grand children and 6 step-grandchildren and 4 step great grand children.

He had 4 brothers Alex Cromwell, Fred Cromwell, George Cromwell, Lloyd Cromwell, and 5 sisters Alice Duel, Mae Virkis, Mary Shrader, lizzie Bernt and Rose Deinkin.

Peter, Clara,Joseph and Maggie died in infancy.
