ADAMS Eloise Marie Rubio Adams passed away on Monday, March 8th, 2010 at 4:14 AM after a very brave 4 year battle with colon cancer. She was at home surrounded by her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Alvin (Whitey) Adams; daughter, Karen Anne Saik Vairin (Steve); brother Charles A. Rubio; stepchildren: Cynthia Seymour, Pamela Bubeck (Butch), Al, Greg and Terry Adams (Margaret). Very proud grandmother. Devoted friend. Eloise was born in New Orleans, LA to the late Charles and Marie Hicks Rubio on November 14th, 1929. She was 80 years young. She graduated from Nicholls High School and was a former employee of PanAmerican Life Ins. Co, Charles Dennery, J Ray McDermott and People Program. She was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church. She was a founding member of the Krewe of Diana. Eloise loved life and never met a stranger, she had a way of making everyone feel special. She loved the Saints (thank you boys for making one of her dreams come true). Her family and friends were so special to her. Especially, Joyce, Barbara and Mary Catherine. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Joseph's Hospice for their incredible care, also Dr.Robert Veith's office and the Oncology Unit of East Jefferson Hospital. Special thanks to her wonderful "angels" Bobbie, Pat, Shannon, Nicole and so many others that made her journey as easy as possible. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Friday, March 12, 2010 at 1:00 pm.
