Lyons - Mrs. Adelia Akins, age 80, of 70 Pine Log Road, Lyons, died early Wednesday, January 21, at Meadows Nursing Center of Vidalia after an extended illness. Mrs. Akins was a native of Viareggio, Italy and resided in Lyons for the past 50 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Faith Assembly of God Church in Lyons. Mrs. Akins is survived by her husband: Henry Akins of Lyons, three sons, Albert Akins of Pooler, Hubert Akins of Powder Springs and Joseph Akins of McDonough, one daughter, Elizabeth Hightower of Camp Lejeune, N.C., one sister, Tina Jacobs of McShan, AL., two brothers, Pino Nicolini and Danilo Nicolini both of Italy, ten grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Visitation: 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m. Friday January 23, 2004 from Ronnie L. Stewart Family Funeral Service Chapel of Vidalia. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
