H.A. Adams full name is Henry A. Robert Adams. On the 1900 Carroll County census he is in the house with his son John T. Adams. He is listed as widowed. Sarah Jane (Akin) Adams died in the late 1800s. In 1906 in Carroll County, Georgia he married Sarah Jane "Janney" Rainey also a widow. On the marriage license he is H.R. Adams. He often went by H.R. also H.A.R. Adams. In some military records he is Robert Adams. On the 1910 Carroll County census he is married to Janney and some of her children who are Raineys are also in the house with them. A set of twins Luther "Buster" Adams and Lula "Crickett" Adams born 1907 are listed in the house also. The Sarah Jane who is buried with Henry and the twins is Sarah Jane Rainey Adams. His first wife Sarah Jane (Akins) Adams burial place is unknown. His second wife was much younger than him. There was tension in the family over the marriage and the fact that he apparently had a bit of a temper. His father died when he was seven. At around fifteen years of age he went off to war. He saw two brothers killed and by the time he was eighteen he was promoted to officer rank, because so many men in his company had been killed. When his daughter Nancy Jane Adams died in 1911 Henry was not allowed at the funeral. He sat in a wagon on Hog Liver Road at the entrance to the cemetery but was not allowed to go in. Nancy Jane (Adams) Akin married her first cousin Allison Beverly Akin. His father was the brother to her mother. Henry Adams met Isham Akin in the war, they fought to gather and later Henry married Ishams sister Sarah Jane Akin.
