Elizabeth Gearhart, daughter of John and Margaret (Loughrey) Gearhart, in 1798 married Johannes (John) Besore . the son of Daniel and Catharine (Rudy) Beshar {sic} Sr. Her death record states that she was born in Lehigh County, PA.; that her father was Frederick Gearhart one Frederick Gearhart served from Franklin County in the Second war with Britain and was probably Elizabeth's brother. Daniel dwelt in the old Marsh Homestead, He was too young to serve with his father and brother David in Revolution. They are known to have had the following offspring:


(1.) Daniel Besore b. 1802.

(2.) Susanna "Susan" Besore married (first) Samuel Sechrist and had one Samuel Sechrist, After the death of her first husband, Susan married (second) Daniel Winkfield. One of their children Christiana Winkfield, married David, son of George and Ester (Hartman) Carbaugh, went west, and lies buried at Wyant, ILL.

(3.) Margaret Besore, married Jacob Edwin Wyant and removed to Holton, Jackson County, Kanas.

(4.) John Besore, married Mary Mowen.

(5.) Jacob Gearhart Besore, b. 3 September 1809-d. 8 February 1887 was reared on the homestead, but in 1847 he sold the farm and located at Waynesboro. There he died and was buried in Green Hill Cemetery. He wed, 7 June 1832, Marion, daughter of John and Rebecca Seachrist.

(6.) Isabella Besore, married Jacob Henry Finafrock.
