David Laverne Armstrong passed away at the age of 76. He was the third of four children born to Frank and Nettie Armstrong. The family moved to Hinckley MN where David grew up and attended school until he joined the National Guard in 1953. He joined the Air Force in 1955 where he was an aircraft mechanic and flight engineer until he retired in 1975. He loved flying and his flight engineering duties took him to various parts of the world. After retiring from the Air Force in 1975, he worked for OEA(ET) in Suisun City CA until retiring in 1999. He lived in Fairfield for 35 years and then moved to Henderson NV. He was an avid bowler and belonged to the PCCB, with which he bowled numerous tournaments. He bowled in various leagues at Fairfield Bowl, Fairfield CA.

David is survived by his wife of 53 years, one daughter of Suisun City, another daughter of Henderson NV, and two grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister of Tucson AZ, and a sister of Des Moines IA. David is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ivan (Jack).

Viewing will be held Friday, Aug 19, 2011 at Desert Memorial, Las Vegas NV. Services and burial will start at noon at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City NV.
