She was born September 7, 1906, in Rocky Gap, Virginia.
Mrs. Caldwell was a member of Omar Community Church and the Omar Women's Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Nancy Tolbert; son, Tommy Caldwell; and husband, Fred Caldwell.
She is survived by her daughter, Jean (Rayman) Herman of Hurricane; and daughter-in-law, Irene Caldwell of Columbus, Ohio. Other survivors include eight grandchildren, Fred (Kathy) Herman of Montgomery Village, Md., Pam (Ernie) Stollings of Ona, Debi (Keith) Herbert of Huntington, Sandy (Rick) Bailey of Chapmanville, Jim (Kim) Herman of Scott Depot, Jeannie (Larry) Hudson of Crawley, Texas, Mary Ellen Burcham of Columbus, Ohio, Tom (Helena) Caldwell of Tucson, Ariz.; 21 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 19, in Forest Lawn Cemetary, Pecks Mill, by Pastor Don Gatewood.
There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to a hospice of your choice.
Arrangements are being made by Collins Funeral Home, Switzer.
