Services for Edith Miller Adams will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2010, in the First United Methodist Church, Alexandria, with Rev. Barry Hoekstra officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Pineville, under the direction of John Kramer & Son.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service at 2 p.m. at the church.

Edith Miller Adams, 86, of Alexandria, passed away September 21, 2010, in Alexandria.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Roderick Edwin Adams, Sr; her parents, Ralph W. Miller and Myrtle Ryder Miller and one sister, Joy Miller LaCombe.

Mrs. Adams was the Deputy Clerk of Court for 28 years in Rapides Parish. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Alexandria, where she was active with the United Methodist Women and a member of the Prayer Line Team. She was also a certified notary.

She is lovingly survived by one son, Dr. Roderick E. "Rick" Adams, Jr. and his wife, Katrina of Pineville; one daughter, Lyn Murphy and her husband, Mike of Alexandria; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one brother, Ralph Miller, Jr. of Hammond.

Memorials may be sent to the family at the First United Methodist Church, 2727 Jackson St., Alexandria, LA, 71301.
