Wilbert served in the US Army from 1951 until his honorable discharge in 1953. Wilbert married Virginia Felde on May 21, 1955, in Missoula, MT.
Wilbert worked as a carpenter in construction. He owned 3-D Construction for many years.
Wilbert enjoyed bowling, fishing, and hunting.
He is survived by two sons, Gene (Lillian) Kienzle and Duane Kienzle, all of Rapid City; two daughters, Joyce Myers, Rapid City, and Peggy (Dennis) Uttecht, Whitewood; three sisters, Anita Mae (Gerritt) VanVoght and Lila Martel, all of Mobridge, and Lorraine (Stanley) Teller, Rapid City; two brothers, Jerry (Bess) Kienzle, Sturgis, and Tony (Virginia) Kienzle, Silverdale, WA; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three brothers, and one sister.
Visitation will be Thursday at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 19, 2011, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel with Rev. Willard Olsen officiating. Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery with military honors provided by the Sturgis Veteran's Honor Guard.
