Marian Latchford, 78, succumbed to cancer on Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2011. Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at the Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, in Pflugerville.

Marian was born in Waco, Texas, to the late Willliam Jennings Bryan Thedford and Velma Thedford. She lived much of her adult life in the central Texas area, including Austin, Wimberley, and Round Rock. She graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a BBA. Marian had a varied life and career. She was a devoted Air Force wife with first husband, Wells, and she worked briefly for Senator John Sparkman in Alabama. She finished out her career as a Field Operations Coordinator for the Texas Water Agency and then retired in Round Rock in the early '90s. Marian was a woman with many passions including shopping, traveling, and Longhorn sports. Marian loved all of her family, her extended family and she was also an animal lover. She was a pet sitter for Gandalf, Brandi, Ella, Honey, Emmy Lu, and other lucky dogs.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wells Rollins; and second husband, John Latchford.

She is survived by her son, Steve Rollins and his wife, Janice, and their son, Sean; sons, Bryan and Robert Rollins; sister, Diane Collins; niece, Lizzie Stevens and her husband, Shawn, and their baby daughter, Alice; nephew, Michael Collins and his wife, Jessica; step-grandchildren, Krystal, Chad, Trevor, and Garrett; step-children and their spouses, Wayne Latchford and his wife, Cheryl, and Lynette Gold and her husband, Tim; caregiver, Chris Marcus; and many other friends and relatives.
