DAVENPORT -- Services for Erwin M. Smeltzer, of Davenport, will be 1 p.m. Friday at Runge Mortuary and Crematory, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. today at the mortuary. Mr. Smeltzer died Tuesday, July 28, 1998, at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport. He was employed 50 years as a cabinet maker at Mueller Lumber Co., Davenport. He was born Oct. 8, 1922, in Davenport. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps. Survivors include a sister, Betty Huston, Davenport; and brothers, Alvin, Davenport, and Don Jr., Rock Island.
