Mrs. Margaret J. Bowers, formerly of Everett, Pa., widow of J. Albert Bowers, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alma Ott Smith, at Hollidaysburg, at 4:45 o'clock Sunday afternoon after having been in impared health for the past six months and in critical condition for the past two weeks. She was born in Bedford county, 75 years ago, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Smeltzer, and had resided in Everett for a period of twenty-five years. Mrs. Bowers was a member of the Barndollar Methodist church at Everett. Surviving are one daughter and one son, Mrs. Smith of Hollidaysburg and Raymond C. Bowers of Pittsburgh, two grandchildren, Orville M. Ott, Jr., of Philadelphia and Jean Bowers of Pittsburgh; one sister, Mrs. Belle Malone of Troy, N.Y., and one brother, John Smeltzer, of Hopewell. Brief funeral services were held at the home of Rev. and Mrs. L. D. Ott of Duncansville at 10:30 Tuesday morning with Rev. B. H. Hart of Hollidaysburg officiating, assisted by Rev. Ott. Further services were held at the D. S. Gump & Son funeral home at Everett at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon, Rev. E. H. Witman officiating. Interment was made in the Everett cemetery.

Mrs. Margaret Bowers of Everett died Jan. 20 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alma Smith, after a long illness. She was born in this county, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Smeltzer, and was married to J. Albert Bowers, who passed away some years ago. She had resided in Everett for 25 years and was a member of the Barndollar M. E. Church.
A daughter and son survive, Mrs. Smith of Hollidaysburg, and Raymond Bowers of Pittsburgh; a sister, Mrs. Belle Malone of Troy, N. Y., and a brother, John Smeltzer of Hopewell. Funeral services were held in Hollidaysburg Tuesday, Rev. B. H. Hart and Rev. Ott officiating, and the body removed to Gump's Mortuary at Everett, where Rev. E. C. Witham conducted further services. Interment was made in the Everett cemetery.
