MRS. CAMPBELL RITES FRIDAY
Services to be held at funeral chapel
Services for Mrs. Ida Clark Campbell, former Mason City resident who passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William McGuinnes, Sumner, Iowa, Tuesday morning, will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Major Memorial Chapel. Garfield Breese, former reader in the First Church of Christ Scientist, will be in charge.
Mrs. Campbell was born Ida Clark, daughter of James and Georgina Clark, at the family homestead now the site of the I.O.O.F. Home in Mason City. After completing her education in the local schools, she entered the state college at Ames, where she was graduated with the class of 1895. She returned to Mason City and taught in Grant and Central schools.
On June 22, 1897, she was married to D.H. Campbell, superintendent of the schools of Clear Lake. They established their home in Clear Lake, which she maintained until May 1940, when she moved to Kansas City, Mo.
Mrs. Campbell was a charter member of the Progress Club, Clear Lake, and had a vital interest in civic affairs. She was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist at Kansas City, Mo.
Surviving Mrs. Campbell are her son, Paul Campbell, Washington D.C., who arrived in Mason City Wednesday morning for the services; a daughter, Mrs. William McGuinnes, Sumner; two grandsons, Kenneth and Donald McGuinnes; two sisters, Mrs. Wilson Roberts, Nora Springs, and Miss Bertha Clark, Mason City; and two brothers, Frank Clark, South Dakota, and C.I. Clark, Mason City.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers, William and Harry Clark.
The body will lie in state at the Major Funeral Home form 10 o'clock Friday morning until the time of services. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery. The Major Funeral Home in charge.
