Son of John Baker and Hannah Charlton. Married to Maria Bergstresser 26 Oct 1846 in Huntingdon County Pennsylvania.

We were called upon today to perform the sad duty of following the remains of one of our most respected citizens to its last resting place, viz: Father Baker.

He came to this State some six years ago, consequently has seen some of the hardships of pioneer life. His funeral was attended by a large concourse of neighbors and friends. The services were conducted by Brother Sheldon, who made some very solemn and impressive remarks. The vacancy caused by the death of such men as Father Baker is hard to be filled, both in the family and the social circle.

York Republican, Benedict NE, 24 Sep 1879

16 Sep 1879 - D.W and F.A. Baker filed for petitioners of father's estate; Jacob left no Last Will or Testament; Personal estate valued about $1700

18 oct 1879 - Administrator's bond, $3,000, 12 months to complete inventory
