The Brookings Police Department announced this week the death of retired Police K-9 Robby. The Belgian Malinois died of a serious medical condition. He was 14. Robby was responsible for many suspect apprehensions and illegal narcotic finds throughout his years of service to the citizens of Oregon and California. He was born Jan. 21, 1997, and was certified to work in law enforcement on Sept. 28, 2001. Robby retired in 2008 and lived at the home of his handler.
