Mary E. Heft Boatner was born December 23, 1928 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and passed away September 16, 2008 in her home in Panorama Village. Mary began her professional career later in life as the Director of Sales for several hotels. This choice was a perfect fit for Mary's outgoing personality and contagious smile. She also worked tirelessly all her life in her beloved Episcopal Church. She could be found working on various committees, reading to the school children of St. James, but especially she loved greeting everyone she met with a hug.

After she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2000, Mary served on the Alzheimer's Respite Care Planning Committee with the Gathering Place in Conroe. She was again able to put to use her natural gift as the ultimate hostess and one woman welcoming committee, where she received as much joy as she passed around.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jim, and they remained on their "honeymoon" until the day she passed. She is also survived by her children, Mark Heft and wife Brenda of Little Rock, Arkansas, Debbie Daigle of Conroe, Ronnie Heft and wife Sandy of Montgomery and Scott Heft of Portland, Oregon. She also is survived by eleven (11) grandchildren, twelve (12) great grandchildren and many loving friends. Honorary pallbearers are her grandsons, Dwayne Heft, Chris Daigle and Hunter Heft.

Special thanks to Hospice of the Southwest, Jackie (our wonderful nurse) and Rafael (our special caregiver). Visitation will be held at Cashner Funeral Home on Thursday, September 18, 2008 from 4 to 6 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be Friday, September 19, 2008 at 10 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, 1803 Highland Hollow, Conroe, Texas with a reception to follow. Interment will be at 12:30 p.m. at Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery.
