Mrs. Bertie Lee Arnold, age 72, of School St. Blairsville, passed away on Monday, August 2, 1999 in the Union County Nursing Home, following an extended illness. She was born in Union County on October 14, 1926, the daughter of the late Jim Rich and the late Julia Colwell Rich. Mrs. Arnold was a life long resident of Union County and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Blairsville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward William Arnold in 1970.
Surviving are a son and daughter in law, Mike and Susie Arnold of Blairsville; one daughter, Jackie Arnold of Blairsville; two sisters, Jan nelson and Margie Guffy both of Blairsville; one brother, David Rich of Blairsville; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren also many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Arnold were held on Tuesday, August 3, 1999 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Mountain View Funeral Home with the Rev. Hubert Legg and the Rev. Billy styles officiating. Special music was presented by the Kelley Trio. Serving as pallbearers were Clayton Nix, Dale Hamby, Wayne Copeland, Jimmy Conley, Charles Loudermilk, and Gary McClure. Interment followed in the Blairsville City Cemetery.
