Doris L. Jacoby, age 78, of Austin, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2011. She was born on February 14, 1933 to Evan and Mary (Matthews) Twomey in San Saba, TX. Doris was a former resident of San Angelo, and had made Austin her home for the last 41 years.
Her husband of 53 years, Reginald B. Jacoby, preceded her in death on May 27, 2006. She is also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, two sisters, her daughter-in-law, Vicky Jacoby and her great-grandson, William Dillard.
Doris is survived by her three sons, Ronald and wife Deborah Jacoby, Roger and wife Denise Jacoby, all of Austin and Randy Jacoby of Navarro County, TX; grandchildren, Amanda Jacoby of Magnolia, TX; Caitlyn Jacoby, Meg Jacoby and Max Jacoby of Austin, Bryan Rose of Georgetown, Tina McRee of Smithville, Victoria Frietsch of Austin, Christel and husband Brian Egan of Palestine; and her great-grandson, Jaden Frietsch.
She is also survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Maxine and husband Charlie Low, Louise and husband Chuck Bledsoe, all of San Angelo; sisters-in-law, Max Ann Twomey and Joyce Twomey, both of Austin, and Lurene Jacoby of San Angelo; brother-in-law, James Jacoby of Eola, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2011 at the Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with graveside services following at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
Special thanks go to the staff at West Oaks Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Emeritus of San Marcos, as well as New Century Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
