He was born February 14, 1938 to Cloman J. Tennant and Frances Loraine (Laura) Tennant in Fairview, WV.
Surviving is one brother, Norman Tennant of Hundred, WV and 27 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, Wilbur, Vern, Kenneth, Noel, Joe and Jack and four sisters, Geraldine Freeland, Irene Freeman, Mary Tennant, and Leona Miller.
Melvin spent four years (1960-1964) in the United States Army. He graduated from Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics after the army and was employed by United Airlines and worked in Washington, DC before moving to San Mateo, CA to continue his employment in 1968 until his retirement.
A memorial service will be held at the Park Cemetery on Miracle Run, Monongalia County, West Virginia on Sunday, September 27, 2009 at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Rose Saunders officiating.
