Alpheus Billings and Lucy Benefield Taylor Wright migrated to Harrison County, Texas
traveling in covered wagons drawn by oxen. They purchased land from Lucy's cousins Benjamin Franklin and Redding Scott Pridgen (a gift from their parents Wiley W. As of June 9, 2012, I was notified that the house is indeed standing and is near what is now Jonesville, Texas.
Still owned by Wright descendants. Built in 1847 to 1849.
Information came from Lora Taylor Hornberger descendant of Alpheus Wright and Lucy Taylor Wright. She was so gracious to send a picture taken in 1991-1992. In fact she was at the home 2 weeks ago.
