Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memorial, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. F.M. Byford officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Bellar was born in Oklaunion on July 12, 1917, to Fred and Lenna Nettles. She married Herbert "Hub" Bellar on Feb. 3, 1934, in Portales, N.M. The Bellars resided in Sudan and Hereford for 40 years. Mrs. Bellar was an LVN in Hereford for more than 20 years and helped deliver six of her seven grandchildren. She and her husband moved to Amarillo in 1974 to be near their children and grandchildren. Mrs. Bellar moved to the Clairmont living facility where she resided for seven years. She was a member of Paramount Baptist Church.
Grandma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had a sweet disposition right up until the end. She loved a good story.
She was preceded in death by her husband in December 1993.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth L. Bellar and wife, Mary, of Amarillo; a daughter, Glenna K. Bomar and husband, Don, of Amarillo; two sisters, Ama Lee Glover of San Antonio and Sib Darling of Citrus Heights, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Kenny Bellar and wife, Peggy, Paul Bellar and wife, Lisa, Donnie Bellar and wife, Delilah, Beverly Jack and husband, Mark, Brenda Galloway and husband, Bob, Crystal Dockery and husband, Kevin, and Jo Dawn Bomar; and nine great-grandchildren, Chris Bellar and wife, Julee, Wendi Bellar, Brandon Bellar, Marcus Bellar, Christina Jack, Billy Jack, Josh Bomar, Stephanie Dockery and Clint Hill.
The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo TX 79176.
