In 1921, he was elected as a Republican to the Sixty-seventh Congress and to the next six succeeding Congresses, serving until 1935. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he returned to his in the real-estate business interests, also was vice president of Philadelphia Transportation Company and the Transit Investment Corporation.
