Sudden Death of a Child
Mervin Henry, the six-year old child of Mr. and Mrs. August Eickmeier, died very suddenly at noon Thursday, May 23, 1912. The little fellow had been in his usual good health and had just finished eating a very hearty meal when he was suddenly seized with a severe sickness. As the lad appeared to be about to faint the father took him in his arms and carried him out doors to allow the boy more air, and he had but got outside the house hen his son died in his arms, heart failure being the cause of his death.
The funeral services were held at the home on the Chas. Prouty farm in Bureau township Saturday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. C.C. Carpenter officiating. A large crowd of sympathizing friends were present at the funeral and the floral offerings were many. Interment was in the Stoner cemetery. He was born in Walnut township August 21, 1905. The bereaved parents have the sympathy of the community.
