Mondora Lee Kurten, 81, of Sulphur passed away on August 8, 2011 in a local nursing home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 from 2-9p.m. with a Eulogy Service at 5p.m. conducted by Bob Hunter and Brad McKelvy. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, 11, 2011 at 11:30a.m. in Shiloh Cemetery in DeRidder, LA, with Bro. Rod Martin officiating.

Mondora was a native of Vandergrift, PA and a longtime resident of Sulphur. She worked one and a half years forThe Pentagon, 16 years between KPLC TV and KLCL Radio and a secretary for 13 years at LeBlanc Middle School. Mondora was a member of the Eastern Star for over 55 years and a member of the Bayou "C"CB Club and was known as "Tinker Bell". She was married to her husband, Ken Kurten, Sr. for 51 years until his death in 2001.

Mondora is survived by her daughter, Gaye Smith and husband, Glen of Sugartown, LA, son, Ken "Kenny" Kurten and wife, Bonnie of Sulphur, son-in-law, Larry Bagwell of Saline Lake, LA, 8 grandchildren, Glen Smith, Jr., Wesley Smith, Heath Bagwell, Heather Watson, Ginny Peters, Justin Menard, Jonathan "J.R." Smith, Kevin Kurten and 17 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken Kurten, daughter, Cindy Bagwell, great granddaughter, Brynn Menard and parents, Frank and Marguerite Adams.
