My Dad
MY dad died of Heart failure at St. Elizabeth Hospital June 20, 1982. He was married to Emma Wishak Luknis and they had 4 children. Mathew Jr. Delores Luknis McCale, Loretta A.Luknis Sampson(me) and Donald Luknis. My Dad and Mom lived in the depression era and they had little,........... but were happy with what they had. We put in large gardens so we would have food all winter.............. My Dad built the house they lived in, he did not know anything about building ( but he learn by doing)........ He was a hard worker all his life.......... his leasure time was going to the lake with his family and we had picnics and went swimming............ In later years he bought a small boat and we would take it to the lake and spend many weekends out there in the summer.
I will always remember how my Dad, even though he had no car in the early years of depression---- he would walk from McDonald (Hilltop) to Niles just to visit my Gramma. She was a wonderful gramma, I will never forget you Gram.

Those we love, don't go away. They walk beside us everyday............ Unseen, unheard, but always near.So Loved, so missed and oh so dear.............sending my love to you, dad
