JAMES R. ADDINGTON

James R. Addington, 70, of Pound, passed away, Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Norton Community Hospital, Norton.

Mr. Addington was a life long resident of Wise County and a retired truck driver. He was a member of the United States Army and was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Addington was preceded in death by his wife, Evon Hayes Addington, his parents, Ervin and Naomi Anderson Addington, one brother, one sister and one son-in-law, Johnny Ward.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Hayes of Blountville, Tenn. and Roger Hayes of Pound; two daughters, Angela Ward and Serena Stallard and husband Woody, all of Pound; two sisters, Gail Porter and husband Silas and Lynn Powers and husband Gary all of Pound; four grandchildren, Cody James and Trenton Stallard and Josh and Kristen Ward.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 20, at 1 p.m. at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Randy Carter officiating. Burial will follow at the Dewey Cemetery, South Fork, Pound. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Family will receive friends at the funeral home 12 p.m. Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to the Ward family.
