Janet Louise Batye, 62, of Fulton died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003, at Boone Hospital Center.
Mrs. Batye was born Oct. 5, 1941, in Columbia, to Harley Torrance and Virginia Fox Torrance.
She married John E. Batye in 1968 in Boone County, and he preceded her in death.
She was a member of Wilkes Boulevard United Methodist Church. She was employed at Shelter Insurance Cos. for more than 30 years.
Survivors include a daughter, a sister, and two grandchildren.
A granddaughter, Tori Avery, also preceded her in death.
