John Bushong was born 9 January 1882 in Jefferson County, the son of Thomas and Irene Bushong. Surviving are his wife Lula; three sons, Virgil of Waltonville, Joseph of Chicago and William at home; three daughters Mrs. Opal Rector and Mrs. Evelyn Norden both of Mount Vernon, and Mrs. Ruth Nelson at home; and a half-brother William Lennington of Salem. Three sons and two daughters preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 pm at the Fry Funeral Home in Waltonville. The Rev, Fergus McElrea will conduct the services and burial will be in Knox Prairie Cemetery, north of Waltonville. The body will remain at the Fry Funeral Home.
