Blues Musician. A master blues guitarist and inventor of "Blues Power", he is famous for playing a Gibson Flying-V guitar and singing such great blues hits as "Born Under a Bad Sign", "Crosscut Saw", "I'll Play the Blues For You", "As the Years Go Passing By" and hundreds more. He was a major influence on artists like Stevie Ray Vaughan (Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble), Eric Clapton (The Yardbirds/John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers/Cream/Blind Faith) and many other blues/rock guitarists. In 1983, he was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame. He died in Memphis, Tennessee which was his home when he was not on the road performing, which he did right up until he passed away. In 2013, King was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
