Died 9:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28, 1994, in Baton Rouge. He was 89, a native of Kosciusko, Miss., and a resident of Baton Rouge for 49 years. He was a retired employee from Exxon Chemicals. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, and 11 a.m. until religious services at 1 p.m. Monday, conducted by Dr. Sam Laine. Burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by wife, Allyne Mayfield Burt, Baton Rouge; a son and daughter-in-law, James Owen Burt Jr., and Betty Seab Burt, Baton Rouge; two sisters, Virginia Weatherly and Margaret Kendall, both of Kosciusko, Miss.; and two grandchildren, William Edward and Laurie Ann Burt. Preceded in death by parents, three sisters and three brothers. He was a member of Broadmoor Presbyterian Church.
