Douglas Roy Bennion, 50, of Rigby Idaho, died Wed. August 3rd, 2011 at Life Care Center in Idaho Falls, after a valiant struggle, surrounded by his family.

Doug was born May 15th, 1961 in Soda Springs, Idaho, the third child and only son of Roy Mervin Bennion and Gereldene Kunz Bennion. He attended schools of Soda Springs.

Doug worked in construction for years, and then worked with his Dad for Chesterfield Land and Livestock during the fall of 1983; He also worked at Gays Music. His most rewarding job and the one he loved the most was being a stay at home Dad for his Son Cody. He also enjoyed going to his "Brother", Scott Anderson's working on Monster Trucks. Doug and Kaye owned and operated the Outlaw Bar in Idaho Falls, and the DD Sage Bar in Dubois.

Doug was very proud of his Family. They were the most important part of his life, especially his sweetheart Kaye. They met March 31st 1991, and spent the next 20 years raising their family and enjoying life.

He is survived by his wife Kaye who stayed by his side and loved him and supported him until the day he left this earth and went home. His five Sons, Steve Mulky, Chad (Brecca) Henderson, Scott Henderson, Trevor Bennion, Cody Bennion All of Rigby. Two daughters, Kristina (Dennis) Thomas of Missouri, Tracey (Bryan) Drussel of Rexburg, Mother, Gerry Bennion of Soda Springs, Three Sisters Teresa (George) Sharp of Pocatello, Kathy Bennion of Fresno CA, Brenda (Bob) Dickman of Butte MT. Ten Grandkids who were his most precious gifts, Grace Beth, Tia Nicole, Korbyn Devlin Roy Henderson, Hagen Bryan, Hadley Don, Traven Zeke, Taylor Jo, Daqri Kaye Drussel, Dennis Richard Roy Thomas Jr., and Tash. He is also survived by nieces and Nephews who love him very much and will miss his big smile.

He was preceded in death by his Father Mervin, Nephew Curt Lansberry.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 6, 2011, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., Friday, August 5, 2011, at the Presbyterian Church 111 West 1st North, Rigby and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery, under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
