Jonas was my great-great-great grandfather, the sixth of eight children of Field and Judith Robinson Bradshaw. He moved with his family from Virginia to Lincoln County, North Carolina, and served in the American Revolution with the 4th Regiment of the North Carolina Line. During 1778-79, he fought in the battles of Briar Creek and Stono Ferry. He married Elizabeth Ratley (or Ratcliff, 1758-c.1848) in Lincoln County in 1782. He and Elizabeth were the parents of six boys and one girl: Pride, John, Susannah, Jonah, Field, Charles, and Larkin.
