Francis P. Fry age 75 Dodgeville, WI died on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Bloomfield Manor after a long illness. Francis was born in Richland County on August 13, 1935 to Clifford and Leona (Chitwood) Fry. He was a member of the 1955 class at Richland County College. A lifelong educator, he retired in 1997 after teaching for 42 years; 37 of them in the Iowa-Grant School System. He started teaching at the Oak Ridge and the Union School of Gillingham in Richland County. He served as building principal at Cobb Elementary School and taught 8th grade at Iowa-Grant Middle School. A graduate of Lone Rock High School and UW- Platteville, he studied at UW-Madison; UW-Stevens Point and Edgewood College, Madison. For 8 years, he supervised student teachers at UW-Platteville before he retired.

A longtime resident of Cobb, WI, he served as a Boy Scout troops leader; a Little League baseball coach; a tutor for students preparing for their GED exam. He was a former member of the Cobb United Methodist Church; former member of the Cobb Village Board; Cobb Fire Debt. and was past President of the Iowa Retired Teachers Association and an election worker both at Cobb and Dodgeville. He taught the Hunter Safety Course for 25 years. He is a member of the Dodgeville United Methodist Church.

On June 14, 1957, he was married to the former Mary Lou Noble of Lancaster, WI and the couple were Cobb residents for many years until retiring and moving to Dodgeville. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou of Dodgeville; 3 sons, Cedric of Oundle, England; David (Marie) Dodgeville and Daniel (Carol), Collierville, TN 5 Grandchildren ; 1 great grandson; 4 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Mundt, Prairie du Chien; a brother, Philip (Cheryl) Fry, Oshkosh and a sister & brother-in-law, Sharon & (Ron) Blask , Lancaster and a special cousin, Edward Busby, Madison ; nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Leona Fry; an infant son, James; 2 brothers-in-law; Roger (Elieen) Noble and Kelly Mundt and a nephew, Tony Noble.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 7, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. in the Dodgeville United Methodist. Pastor Rom Pegram and Pastor Charlene Bennett will officiate. Burial will be in the Eastside Cemetery, Dodgeville. A visitation will be held at the Lulloff-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home on Saturday from 4-8 P.M. and at the Church on Sunday from noon until service time.
