George A. Hussey, III, age 79, died December 6, 2005.

Born and raised in Bristol Bucks County, PA, Mr. Hussey had resided in Glastonbury, CT and Atlanta, GA before moving to Ocean Ridge, FL in 1986, where he had maintained a winter residence for a number of years. Mr. Hussey was a Alunums of Admiral Farragut Academy, Mount St. Mary's College and Temple University.

A World War II veteran, he enlisted in the US Navy Reserves at age 17 and volunteered for Submarine Service. He served as a Petty Officer/Torpedo Man's Mate in Southwest Theatre of Operations, and later as a Prize Crew Member of a Japanese Submarine and with the Navy Occupational Forces. In addition to four US Service Medals, he was awarded the Philppine Government Liberation and Independence Medals. After the war, he served in the Inactive Naval Reserve.

At his retirment, Mr. Hussey was Northeast Regional Sales Manager for Equifax, Inc., He previously served the firm as Assistant Vice President Sales and Assistant Vice President Operations in the firm's Atlanta Home Office among a number of other positions he held at various locations during 39 years with the company, he had joined as a Field Representative in Philadelphia. Well known among the Hartford Insurance Industry at the time, he was active in a number of Professional Insurance Organizations in the Northeast.

Mr. Hussey was a past member of The Delray Beach Florida Rotary Club and a Former Director of The Hartford Rotary Club. He served on The Board of Advisors of the Southern New England Division of The Salvation Army and was a member of The Hartford Sales and Marketing Executives Club, The American Society for Industrial Security and The Hartford Club, a Life Member of The US Submarine Veterans of World War II, he was also a member of The Navy League and The Naval Institutue. He was a past Commodore of The Bristol (PA) Yacht Club. And a Amateur Radio Operator, he was a also a Life Member of The American Radio Relay League.

Mr. Hussey is survived by his wife, Patricia Clay Hussey; and five children, George, IV and Linda H. Burke of Marietta, GA, Peter M. Hussey and Claire H. Wieezorek of Roswell, GA and James C. Hussey of Edwards, CO; and ten grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 12, 2005 at 10:30 AM at St. Jude Catholic Church, Sandy Springs, GA. Interment, Arlington Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 11, 2005 from 7-9 PM at Sandy Springs Chapel Funeral Directors, 136 Mt. Vernon Highway, Sandy Springs, GA.
