Hazel Lillian (Matheson) Bass, 81, of Inman, South Carolina, passed away July 8, 2002, at her home after a brief illness.
A native of Hayesville, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Luther Matheson and Myrtle (Carter) Matheson and widow of Fred R. Bass.
She retired from United 5 & 10 stores and was a homemaker. She was a member of Lake Bowen Baptist Church of Inman and the WMU.
Surviving are a son, Samuel K. Bass; one daughter, Nancy L. Ward; one brother, L.T. Matheson Jr.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were July 10, 2002, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Revs. Mark Williams and Ron Jackson.
