Nellie Lee Whanger Johnson, 95, of Ronceverte passed away Monday, March 9, 2009, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Fairlea.
Nellie was born Sept. 24, 1913, in Ronceverte and was the daughter of the late Abraham Grant and Josie *Livesay* Whanger. She was also preceded in death by her husband, David E. Johnson Sr.; sisters, Ethel (Drummond) Long and Myrtle Bennett; and brothers, Elbert, Lawrence, Ernest, Jesse and Oscar Whanger.
Nellie was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Rebekah Lodge and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her sons and their wives, David ?Eddie? Jr. and Helen Johnson of Renick, Harold L. and Beth Johnson of Richmond, Va., and Ronald L. and Peggy Johnson of Cleveland, Texas; grandchildren and their spouses, Randy and Lorna Johnson, Ricky and Lisa Johnson, Carolyn and John Hannigan, Soctt Johnson, David N. Johnson, Patty Walther, Tracy Harper and Melissa McAdams; and great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Johnson, Katlyn Johnson and Brianna Hannigan.
Service will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 13, at Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Estep officiating.
Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
