Hinesburg - Harold C, Emmons, 77, a former resident of Hinesburg, died Wednesday morning in a Burlington hospital after a long illness. He was born in Hinesburg, Nov. 3, 1893, son of Oren and Ella (White) Emmons. He had lived in West Bolton for the past four years. He was employed by the Rice Lumber Co. in Shelburne for 25 years, retiring several years ago. He leaves three sons, Richard Emmons of Bridgeport, Durwood Emmons of Randolph and Lloyd Emmons; a brother, Arthur Emmons of Hinesburg, a sister, Mrs. Bert (Ruby) Stokes of Berlin; several nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Gifford Funeral Home in Hinesburg, with Rev. Richard Mellerup officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be in the family lot in Hinesburg Cemetery. The Gifford Funeral Service in Richmond in charge of arrangements.
