Dovie Anglee Felder was born December 7, 1923 to Lee and Ida McDaniel near Cheyenne, Oklahoma. She passed away February 1, 1987 in St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, KS.
Dovie grew to womanhood in the vicinity of Cheyenne. She married James F. (Tuffy) Felder July 12, 1941, near Berlin, Oklahoma.
She was with her husband during World War II in Hot Springs, Ark. and Valley Forge, PA.
After the war they farmed near Reydon until 1951, when they started working in grain elevators. This occupation led the to Sharon, Woodward and Newkirk, Oka., Ft. Worth, Texas and Hastings, Nebraska, Sharon Springs, Scott City and Great Bend, Kansas which was her home at the time of her death.
Dovie is survived by her husband James of the home, one daughter, Barbara and her husband, Bert Rystrom of Belle Plaine, KS, one son Jimmy and his wife, Bridgett of Great Bend, KS, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
She is also survived by her mother Ida McDaniel, Cheyenne, OK; Her brothers, Jack McDaniel and his wife Kate of Crawford, Leonard McDaniel and his wife, Margie of Durham, Bobbie L. and his wife, Susan of Hope, Ks and one sister, Billie Rae and husband Everett Dollar of Ruidosa, NM, one sister-in-law, Carmen Medley and her husband, Virgil of Reydon, Okla, a host of relatives and friends.
Dovie was preceded in death by her father, Lee McDaniel and two nephews, Doug and Steve Dollar.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, February 4, 1987 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Reydon with Ernest Ashcraft and Galen Isaac officiating. Interment followed in the White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Cheyenne in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were: Neely Yowell, Raymond McNeil, Lester Davis, John R. Petersen, Troy Garver and Leo Swope, Jr
