Gladys Ethel Henington was a daughter to James Monroe Henington and Belle Andress, originally natives of Alabama. They migrated to Polk County, Texas, where he farmed and they reared several children. Gladys Henington, 19, and Harmon Webster Wright, 26, married September 26, 1916, in Polk County. Harmon Wright was a son of Rev. John Wesley Wright and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Louise Tiller of Burke, Angelina County, Texas. The first couple of years Harmon and Gladys lived in Liberty, Texas, where he was employed as a Telegraph Operator.

Harmon Wright worked most of his lifetime career for Southern Pacific Railroad based out of Bakersfield, California. He progressed from Telegraph Operator to Station Agent; he managed an office for many years. He was stationed in Kern County, California where they lived happily with their two daughters Kathryn and Melba. Harmon's mother "Lizzie" and youngest brother Fred came from Texas after his father's death. "Lizzie" Wright died in 1935. She was buried nearby in a lovely cemetery. Harmon, Gladys, and the girls loved his brother, and Harmon trained him to be a Telegraph Operator.

Harmon Wright died in 1953, San Luis Obispo County, California, the exact date January 9th as his father 36 years previously. Harmon Wright was laid to rest in Arroya Grande Cemetery, San Luis Obispo, California. Gladys his beloved wife lived to 81 years of age.

Daughter Melba Jean Wright Johnson purchased a double plot for she and her mother in the cemetery; there was not a plot available beside Harmon in 1981. Melba Wright Johnson's plot was never used.
