GENEVA PLATT ASBURY,
age 86, Cynthiana, died Friday, July 29, 2011 at her residence. Born in Harrison County, October 2, 1924 to the late James and Vernie Platt, she was a homemaker and a member of Headquarters Methodist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, whom she married on December 29, 1949, Ray Asbury; a brother, Reynolds Platt and three sisters, Hallie Smith, Florence Tucker and Kathern McNees.
She is survived by a son, Billy Ray Asbury and his special friend, Soundra Wooden, Leitchfield; a daughter, Linda Asbury (Joe) Haydon, Cynthiana; a granddaughter, Renee (Gary) Roland, Lexington and three great grandchildren, Claire Roland, Abby Roland and Audrey Roland.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Ware Funeral Home by Bro. Chad Broaddus. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 1317 U.S Highway 62 East, Cynthiana, Kentucky 41031 or Indian Creek Christian Church, 51 Waits Road, Cynthiana, Kentucky 41031.
