CENCI, Frederick E., age 85, of Wallington, died on March 1, 2011. Born in Jersey City, he lived there for 18 years, spending most of his life in Lodi for 58 years, settling in Wallington 9 years ago. He was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran serving three years in the Seabees. He received the American Theater Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Medal, and the Victory Medal. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church, and he was a third degree knight of the Lodi Knights of Columbus- Council 2861. A 65 year member of the Lodi American Legion Post 136, he served as Commander from 1959-1960 , he was the County Commander of the Bergen County American Legion in 1962 , and was a life member of the Saddle Brook VFW Post 3484. Working for the County of Bergen, he was Purchasing Agent for 10 years retiring in 2001, and previously, he was supervisor of Veterans Interment. Prior to public service, he worked for 50 years in the petrochemical industry. In addition, Frederick served on the Bergen County Republican Committee representing Lodi and Wallington, and he was the Lodi Republican County Committee Municipal Chairman for 2 years.
