Bee graduated Maury High School in Norfolk, she attended Banks Business College, in Norfolk, Virginia and went on to work for Civil Service until retirement. Bernice married Roy Ketner and she and Roy never had children of their own but they enjoyed being a part of the family with all their neices and newphews. She espeically enjoyed every 3rd Sunday in May a family reunion and being with the family and seeing every one. Roy and Bernice made their home in Yorktown, near the battlefield and loved to take visitors there. She was a loving devoted daughter and took care of her Mother, Daisy in her home for many years until Daisy needed round the clock care. She did every thing she could to make her Mother happy and well. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and bird watching. She had many pet parakeets over the years and was very good at training them to do tricks and to talk. She loved her birds. She was a member of Yorktown Baptist Church, also a member of the Copes-Oliver Sunday School Class. She was a lifemember of Eastern National Park and Monument Association, and the Women of the Moose Chapter 1386. Bernice was married to Roy for many years until his death. She later met and married William Barrow and they had five years together until her death at the age of 79 from lung Cancer. She never smoked a day in her life. She was loved and is missed by all who knew her.
