Ruth A. Jenne, 85, Canton, died Sunday evening at Monroe Regional Medical Center, Ocala, Fla.

Mrs. Jenne worked at Alcoa in Massena for eight years and at Montgomery Ward in Potsdam for 10 years. She also worked for other retail stores.

Born July 14, 1919, in Potsdam, daughter of Roy C. and Mae A. Burkum Hatch, she attended rural school in Lost Nation and graduated from Massena High School.

She married Glenwood C. Brothers on July 20, 1935, at First United Methodist Church in Massena.

He died Jan. 30, 1956. She married Francis R. "Red" Jenne on June 20, 1970, at St. Patrick's Church in Brasher Falls. He died March 24, 1992.

She enjoyed wallpapering, cooking, fishing and berry picking. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society of the Church of the Visitation .

Surviving are two daughters, Joan Majer and Joyce Page; two sons, Harold Brothers and Clyde Brothers; a stepson, Duane Jenne; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Richard (Nancy) Demo and Mrs. Thomas (Sharon) Tyo; 23 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.

Two sons, Clifford Brothers and Vernon Brothers; a stepson, Francis R. Jenne Jr.; two brothers, William and Raymond Hatch; and six sisters, Gertrude Eurto, Margaret Janack, Carrie Tucker, Mildred Tucker, Jessie Butterfield and Irma Miller, died before her.

The funeral was held at the Church of the Visitation in Norfolk. Burial was made in Visitation Cemetery, Norfolk.
