A native of Newton County, she was member of Light of Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Atha was the former Marcelle Dial, daughter of the late Jessie and Bessie Lee Dennard Dial.
Mrs. Atha worked along side her husband during his ministry and a wife who supported her husbanding his work.
Funeral services were held Sunday, October 23, at Light of Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Guy Rainwater officiating. Interment was in Lawnwood Memorial Park with Caldwell and Cowan Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Her nephews served as pallbearers.
Surviving are her husband, Rev. William M. Atha, Conyers; daughter, Mrs. Melba Jean Tucker, Covington, son, Marshall Atha, Covington; brother, Thomas Dial, Oxford; Raymond Dial, Chattanooga, Tenn; sisters, Mrs. Susie Bell McCord and Mrs. Wilbiur Hinton, Conyers; and grandchildren, Chante Tucker, Mannin Tucker, LaTrelle Atha, Dusty Atha and Wesley Atha.
