Robert left North Carolina after 1805. He lived in Illinois by 1818.

The People of the State of Illinois, to all whom these presents shall come,
Greetings:
KNOW YE, that whereas Robert Patton of the County of Gallatin and State of Illinois, died intestate, as is said, on or about the 4th day of February A.D. 1843, having at the time of his decease, personal property in this State, which may be listed, destroyed, or diminished in value, if speedy care is not taken of the same; to the end, therefore, that the said property may be collected and preserved for those who have legal right or interest therein, we do hereby appoint William D. Patton of the County of Gallatin and State of Illinois, administrator of all and singular the goods and chattels, rights and credit which were of the said Robert Patton at the time of his decease, with full power and authority to secure and collect the said property and debts, wheresoever the same may be found in the State, and in general to do and perform all other acts which are now, or hereafter may be, required by law.

Probate Justice of the Peace, in and for said County of Gallatin, Illinois at his office in Equality, Illinois this 8th day of February 1843.

His parents were Andrew Patton and Margaret McAllister of Orange Co, North Carolina.
Robert left North Carolina after 1805. He lived in Illinois by 1818.
